Architectural Review Committee (ARC) - Keeping Tyler's Reserve Beautiful

The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) is comprised of 3 volunteers from the community who are selected by the Tyler's Reserve Homeowners Association (

TRHOA) Board. The ARC board meets to review applications on a as needed basis.  During the busy summer months, we may meet twice a month to speed the process of reviewing applications. For the protection and privacy of our residents, these meetings are NOT open to the public.

The ARC is responsible for making sure that ALL exterior changes to your home and landscape meet the guidelines set forth in the
TRHOA By-Laws. Every property owner and resident should have a copy of the TRHOA By-Laws, as it can answer most questions as to what is and is not acceptable your community. If you do not have a copy or your copy of the TRHOA By-Laws,, you may obtain one by either downloading the newest versions from this Web site (go to "Documents & Forms) or by requesting that hard copies be sent directly to you by contacting us.

Applying for an Exterior Change to Your Property
If you are planning any exterior changes to your home or landscape you MUST submit a ARC Exterior Change Application, downloadable from from this website prior to a ARC meeting and BEFORE you begin any work. When applying for an exterior change, please provide as much information as possible including photos, blue prints, colors, plot of property, etc. This will help avoid any delays in your application. There is no  fee for submitting and processing an Exterior Change Application for approval by the ARC.

There are only two exceptions to this rule. In cases where you are replacing "Like with Like" you do not have to submit an application.  An example of "Like with Like" would be replacing your roof with the same color/style shingles or painting your home the same color. The other exception is in emergency situations such as a fire, tree falling, plumbing burst, etc. In emergency situations, we ask that you submit the application within 72 hours of the emergency.

Approvals & Denials

After the ARC reviews your application, you will be notified via the mail, or email if you wish, of the ARC decision. Your project will either be approved as is, approved conditionally (conditions will be listed) or denied.

If your application is denied there are several options available. Most denial letters will indicate why your project was denied and, if possible, how to remedy the situation so your project can be approved.  You can make the recommended changes and reapply.

Appeals
If you are denied a second time, you have the right to appeal the decision by taking your issue before the TRHOA Board at their next regularly scheduled meeting.  The board will generally hear your issue, open the floor for discussion and make a judgment in Executive Session.  A TRHOA Board judgment can range from approval, denial or the issue can be sent back to the ARC for further review.

ARC Violation / Non-Compliance Report
As part of the Tyler's Reserve Homeowner's Association, as members, we must work together to keep Tyler's Reserve  looking beautiful. Please use the Comments Feedback Form to report anything you see that might not be up to the design standards of Tyler's Reserve.
